India-US jet engine deal is revolutionary step, says Defense Secretary Austin.

The important deal was announced last June when Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the US on an official state visit.

 

Agreement Details:-

General Electric and Hindustan Aeronautics signed an agreement.

As per the agreement, GE Aerospace’s F414 engines will be made together in India to be used for the Tejas light combat aircraft Mk2.
The deal between India and the US to make fighter jet engines together for the Indian Air Force is a big step forward.

Austin Says on Jet Deal:-

The jet engine deal between India and The United States is a good step, according to Defense Secretary Austin.

All of these things together are probably more than we have seen happen in that region for a very long time, Austin Said.

He also praised the strong relationship between the two countries. 

Austin told lawmakers on Wednesday that the United States and India have a strong relationship.”
